Designing this new construction family cottage in Fiji was an exciting and rewarding experience for ACA Design Studio. The client’s vision for their dream home was initially drafted by a local architect, and our role was to develop a cohesive interior design concept for all rooms  and exterior as well as carefully select interior and exterior materials, finishes, and furnishings.

Inspired by the luxurious ambiance of the renowned Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort located on the same island, our team aimed to create a serene yet sophisticated retreat that seamlessly blends modern elegance with island charm. Every design element was chosen to enhance the home’s tranquil atmosphere while ensuring functionality and comfort for family gatherings and relaxation.

The breathtaking surroundings played a significant role in shaping the aesthetic. The shimmering blue waters, the rich jewel tones of the sky, and the vibrant patterns of traditional Fijian art served as key inspirations for the material and color selections. Natural textures, such as warm wood, woven fibers, and organic stone, were carefully incorporated to reflect the island’s raw beauty, while contemporary furnishings added a refined touch to the space.

Every detail, from the selection of lighting fixtures to the layout of the kitchen, was thoughtfully curated to balance luxury with livability. The result is a chic yet cozy home that captures the essence of island living while offering a sophisticated retreat for the family to enjoy for years to come.
